I have been using Preview for many years and never had any issues. However, my signature is not saved when I add it to a PDF document. I re-started my MacBook Pro and my system is up to date (Ventura). I saw many messages about the issue but am I right, the issue has not been sorted yet by Apple?

I do not see this issue using the Preview.app In Ventura

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes, security updates is macOS Ventura 13.2.1

To trouble shoot further you can:
—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support
This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
—A SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies
Login and test. Reboot as normal and test.
This test will tell you if third party interference; most* extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.
unplug all third party peripherals and test
Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus
all known to cause issues on the macOS
*Ventura —System Settings>Privacy&Security>Extension look for interference w/ Finder Extensions.
Safeboot no longer disabling some of these…
Thank you, my Ventura version was indeed not up to date, so I have now the latest version.
I tried again to add a signature to a document, saved it and re-opened it but the signature is still masked by the white box I am supposed to sign inside. Please see screenshot.
I will go through the other steps you recommend and let you know how it goes.
