Excel Compatibility Mode - cannot turn off

Hi, any help would be appreciated.

I have received an Excel file which is in Compatibility Mode and I cannot open it to make necessary changes. I am using Excel Ver 16.69 for Mac.

Mac M1 mini - Monterey 12.6

What should I do?

You can try these steps:

  1. On the Excel menu, click Preferences.
  2. Under Sharing and Privacy, click Compatibility .
  3. Under Compatibility Report, clear the Check documents for compatibility check box.

Tip: To check the compatibility of a document after you have turned off the Compatibility Report, on the View menu, click Compatibility Report.

If these steps do not work you can try asking in the Microsoft Excel Help Community.
