Default Browser

My daughter's iMac will not keep Safari as the default browser. I had her delete Chrome and now it automatically sets Firefox as default. Going into Safari settings, general, it says that Safari is not the default browser, so she clicks on Set Default but even after a restart it reverts back to Firefox just like it used to revert to Chrome before she deleted it. She has a 2019 iMac running Ventura 13.2. Any ideas what I can tell her to try? Thanks.

go into System Settings > Desktop & Dock and scroll down till you see "Default web browser" and set your default browser to Safari there.

Maybe boot into safemode. That was a known bug in Ventura but was fixed in 13.2. By booting into safemode, it will perform system diagnostics and repair issues it finds.

Also, while in safemode check to see if the default browser works correctly there, If it does and after booting into regular mode again. Test again.
