gaps between songs

I've been experiencing issues with gaps between songs where there shouldn't be on downloaded music on my IPhone SE. I don't have this issue on my desktop. It pretty consistently puts gaps between every second transition on an album that has no gaps (Dark Side of the Moon, live albums, etc.) If I start with a different song the gaps will move up one song transition. Perhaps if I played more of the album I would see more randomness but, well, I'd rather there not be any gaps at all where there aren't supposed to be.
