gaps between songs

When I play albums that have no gaps between songs, e.g. The Dark Side of the Moon, on iTunes using my phone it leaves a gap on every second transition (no gap between first and second songs, a gap between the second and third, no gap between third and fourth, etc.). I've tried unsyncing it from my phone then resyncing it but it's still the same.

gaps between songs I've been experiencing issues with gaps between songs where there shouldn't be on downloaded music on my IPhone SE. I don't have this issue on my desktop. It pretty consistently puts gaps between every second transition on an album that has no gaps (Dark Side of the Moon, live albums, etc.) If I start with a different song the gaps will move up one song transition. Perhaps if I played more of the album I would see more randomness but, well, I'd rather there not be any gaps at all where there aren't supposed to be.

Issues with gapless playback iOS 17 For years I've been having problems with gapless playback on iPhone (iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 17.0.3), specifically with albums ripped from CD. It appears to be happening mostly when syncing libraries with iTunes Match and now with Apple Music, even when the albums have been downloaded to the device. All albums were ripped using iTunes or more recently Music on a MacBook Pro using the default setting (256kbps .m4a). I have tried re-ripping them with no success. Advice from an Apple technical advisor was to disable library sync on both iPhone and MacBook, connect iPhone to the computer and transfer the albums to it via the lightning cable. This worked for a time but when library sync was switched back on the problem returned, and on one occasion it bizarrely removed the download. Additionally, some albums are fine but others not, and it's totally random. I can delete all music then re-transfer the music to my iPhone and the problem will occur on different albums. As far as I can tell, none of them play back gapless on Apple TV or on iPad. I don't have the time of patience to experiment with re-ripping albums in different formats, does anyone have any other ideas? It's a pretty poor show when you consider that my crappy old MP3 player could play these albums ripped from CD with gapless playback almost 20 years ago. There's another post on this issue here

Compilation albums not syncing correctly on iPhone after iOS 18.2 update I don't have a subscription to Apple Music, I have about 600 CD's that through the years I've collected and downloaded to my Mac Mini, first to iTunes then when Apple replaced it with Apple Music all my songs transferred intact, it was actually a seamless transition, so everything was sync and the albums look the mirror image of Apple music on the mac and the iPhone. after the last update to iPhone (15 pro max, and the new update is iOS 18.2), the compilation albums are not matching see image below I remove the album from the iPhone and load it again and the first time looks as it should. Then when I unplug the phone and plug again and sync, it reverts to one song one album. I also try by changing the name of the album then sync, it looks back to normal, then unplug and plug and sync and reverts to one song one album, this I have found on compilations, haven't found the same issue on non compilations. And yes the compilation box is checked on all compilation albums. Has anyone have a permanent solution? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

I'm referring to albums where all or some of the songs are sequenced to run continuously without breaks by the artist/producer. iTunes on my phone is placing gaps where there aren't supposed to be. I want the albums to play as the artist intended. I've never had this problem with iTunes before.

I’m experiencing the same thing. Something tells me it’s a bug that they don’t have a fix for yet. I’m so close to switching back to Spotify just for this reason.
