disappearing windows on macbook air

Why do all my windows disappear on my macBook air overnight when the device sleeps (i.e., i close the lid and don't open for several hours)?

MacOS keeps hiding my windows I use spaces to organize my workflows. Mail in one space, numbers in another, several spaces dedicated to different Safari windows, Adobe apps, Quickbooks, etc. Often after my MacBook Pro sleeps, all of my apps will be hidden. I just swipe around thru empty desktops showing no open windows. Once I click on the app in the dock everything reappears. It also doesn't seem to be connected to any specific period of inactivity. Sometimes I walk away from the computer for only a few minutes and come back to everything being hidden. Sometimes I'm away for hours, or even over night, and everything is fine. I have an M1 MacBook Pro now, but I remember dealing with this on my previous intel MacBook Pro as well, so I don't think this is something isolated to just this machine. And definitely not just Ventura. I assumed this was a feature, or setting in macOS, but I cannot find anything, anywhere referring to it. None of my apps are full screen. Thanks

Macbook pro turning off every time I close the lid Since updating my Macbook pro to Catalina, it turns itself off when I close the lid, and then takes a very long time to wake up again whenever I open it. How do I change the settings to just sleep and not fully turn off everytime I close the lid? (It used to be fine and didn't do this until the recent update) thank you!

Mac restarting after Sleep from Hot Corners. A few days back, I reinstalled MacOS on my MacBook Air M2 (13 inch). I did set one of the hot corners to put the Mac to sleep. But whenever I use it, Mac restarts, instead of sleep. What's the issue? How can I resolve it?

Hi there!

First, make sure that macOS is up to date: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support.

Are you using any anti-virus, anti-malware, or "cleaning" utilities?
