Phone stays on dark mode

My new iphone13 keeps changing itself to dark mode even when turned on light mode and automatic is turned off

when I last updated my phone it went back to light mode now it’s changed back again

if I turn my phone completely off and on again it changes back to light but after a couple of hours it goes back to permanent dark
