Turn off Dolby Atmos on car/bluetooth speakers

unlike ios, on android Dolby Atmos is either on or off.

Is there any way to turn off dolby atmos when listening to music via car(android auto) or bluetooth speakers.

As almost no car audio system and bluetooth speakers support decoding dolby atmos format, it just sounds unbalanced and lack audio quality.

It just kills the purpose of atmos music if user have to manually turn atmos off/on everytime when connecting to car/speakers/headphones.

Apple should add an option to select bluetooth devices for which dolby atmos should be used.

Hello soul_99,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you.

Have you had a chance to review About Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos in Apple Music - Apple Support? If not, you can find a lot of good information regarding audio features with Apple Music here. In regard to you question, you might find the options below helpful.

Choose how to listen to Dolby Atmos on your iPhone or iPad

1. Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Music.
4. Under Audio, tap Dolby Atmos.
5. Choose Automatic, Always On, or Off.

If you choose Automatic, here’s what you need

Supported songs automatically play in Dolby Atmos when you're listening with:

- AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, AirPods (3rd generation), or Beats Fit Pro with Spatial Audio turned on
- AirPods (1st or 2nd generation)
- BeatsX, Beats Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio3, Powerbeats3 Wireless, Beats Flex, Powerbeats Pro, Beats Solo Pro, or Beats Studio Buds
- Any Bluetooth headphones that you categorize as headphones on your iPhone or iPad
- The built-in speakers on an iPhone XS or later (except iPhone SE), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation or later), iPad Pro 11-inch, or iPad Air (4th generation or later)

This also might be helpful to you. Its from the article above as well.

How can I listen to the stereo version of a song that’s downloaded in Dolby Atmos?

When you download a Dolby Atmos version of a song, a stereo version of the song is downloaded too. To listen to the stereo version of a song, just turn off Dolby Atmos in Settings, then play the song.

Best regards.
