play mp3 in apple tv

I have an Apple TV set up in my garage and use it for Wahoo RGT which is an app connected to my turbo and allows me to ride in a virtual world for training purposes in winter.

I want to be able to play an mp3 file I was sent

is this possible.

I have a lot of music stored and imported into iTunes on my iMac and also have a MacBook Air.

I seem to be able to play it via home sharing but that means having the MacBook Air plugged in and on and I’m hoping not to waste electricity like that.

any help would be great thanks.
