Stubborn Trash deletion
Anybody have a quick permanent method of deleting the Trash - have some Time Machine sessions that take forever to get rid of?

Agree with previous contributor, do not to muck around with the Time Machine Backup drive for the same reasons presented.
In this specific situation, shutdown the computer will the TM Backup still attached.
Disconnect the drive and then restart the computer
Yes, there is the chance this will corrupt the TM Backups on the drive, but that may have have already happened by attempting to Remove the Snap Shots.
In which case, the User will have to Reformat the drive anyways
You shouldn't try to delete Time Machine files from an APFS formatted drive. Your best bet is to erase the drive and start over.
