Since upgrading to OS Ventura, our computers in our network can no longer connect

Different possible workaround are proposed. This one worked for me: 254343578 (i.e. remove extended attributes of the shared directory).

It's shell command. If you are not familiar with it, I would rather try with some app which does that (the idea is to remove the Extended Attributes of the shared directories).

Someone pointed the application BatChmod and use the "Clear xattrs" function with it ("xattrs" = "extended attributes").

This works for me. Removed extended attributes from each of my shared folders, and they are now accessible from client computers again! I have been working with Apple on this issue using Feedback Assistant and I have forwarded this work-around to them (FB11980455)

Tried what you said and it did not work but i may have been doing it wrong.

But then did this and sharing is now working:

rename computer

turn file sharing off/on with a reboot

cleared the recent server list in the Go menu in Finder

I had tried those first two items many times without success but clearing the recent server list did the trick. Hoping it will last....

The only thing that worked for me was wiping the drive and starting over. As soon as I was up and running File Sharing worked perfectly. I then migrated from a Time Machine backup and it broke File Sharing again so some file that gets backed up is likely corrupt. I wiped the drive again and migrated from another Mac and everything works fine.

Try this

xattr -c /Volumes/NAME\ OF\ DRIVE

(and don't put the $, it's a character used just to illustrate it's shell commands)

kpmelocoton, Could you please explain this to a non-techie. I see it is a Terminal command but not sure how to get the drive name in that format. Thanks.

Type "xattr -c " in your Terminal (don't forget the space at the end), then drag & drop your shared directory from the Finder to your Terminal, and press enter.

Well, worked for a while.

I'm giving up until Apple hopefully fixes this in a future update.
