How to stop Adobe Acrobat Reader from opening automatically on my iMac?

When I first log on in the morning Adobe Acrobat Reader opens up automatically, even tho I've never set it to. How do I stop this. I should add that this doesn't happen every morning, but several times a week. And it seems to add considerably to the start up time.

If an app was open when you logged out, it will be open when you log in, unless you’ve changed your settings.

Apps listed in the login items will also be started at login.
