I want to register my dismay at the removal of the "Create New Contact" feature in OS and IOS Maps. That was one of the handiest things going. Please bring it back./
I agree - an extraordinary decision to remove the option. It was one compelling reason to persuade people to move from Google Maps.
One point to note: 'Create new Contact' is still an option in iOS16 - via the Share menu.

OOPS! The option to Create a new Contact IS still there in Maps in Ventura (13.2). When trying to test, I had opened a location I'd previously added, way back when I was using 10.14.
When I experimented with a new location, the option is still there, via the Ellipsis (...)
Create new Contact from Maps is gone
