Use the cable that you normally use to charge your iPad to connect it to your computer. If your computer and power adapter don't have the same connector, such as if your computer doesn't have a USB Type-C port, you can use an adapter or a different cable entirely.

If your iPad has a home button, use a Lightning cable to connect your iPad to your computer. If your iPad does not have a home button, use a USB Type-C cable to connect your iPad to your computer.
