Verify purchase on child account

when I am trying to allow a purchase on my child’s iPhone with Family Share it prompts me verify the credit card. A verification code is sent to my phone and I enter it on my child’s phone but it will not let me select the blue ‘verify’ button on the top right, only the back option will work. Any suggestions? Apple Pay works just fine on my phone so I know the card info is correct.

So after contacting support and spending a couple hours on 2 calls, we were finally able to get it working. The solution appears to be one of the following:

1 - Log out of the child account on that phone, reboot, log back in and it reset everything to allow it to work


or


2 - You cannot get it to verify when processing through the game app, you have to go through Setting/AppleID/Payments and Shipping and verify it directly through there. Then go to the app and purchase works just fine.


Hope this helps anyone that might have a similar issue.

I have spent 2 days on this and still have the exact same problem you are experiencing. Went to the Apple store and they could not figure it out. My daughter's iPhone and her new iPad cannot download any apps because there is no way to verify a payment method. The cards show up in her profile but there is no way to verify the card. I have added additional cards, they show up, but you cannot select the card to verify it. I deleted all payment methods on my phone, and added one back, still having the same issue. I really hope someone here has the fix for this.

I'm having similar issue and sooo frustrated. just 3 weeks ago I purchased a couple apps on his tablet. today when I need it most not working. Im using Kidslox for securing his tablet, and do not have any of apples default child protection on. He's set as a child profile, I did the sharing but somehow his email is listed on his at the primary. I tried removing my secondary and redoing, now I get. you can change this in 89 day. FFS 89days??? I can't download a new app on a very long rainy weekend for our special needs kid and it sucks. I click it, it prompts for password, verification and just sits and spins. and on the share I have my paypal setup which worked last time..

I am currently the only one in the household (Family Sharing Organizer) that can download anything. Everyone else in our Family Sharing cannot download or update apps in the Apple Store. Under each person’s Apple ID, who is not the organizer, I cannot verify the Payment type on file as it says that it’s setup in Family Sharing and contact the Family Organizer. Ask to Buy is also not working. My children ask to buy and I never receive the request on my phone
