MacBook Air 2020 M1 keyboard stopped working

I have a MacBook Air M1 from 2020 where the onboard keyboard has just stopped working. Powers on just fine, works perfectly well with an external keyboard but will not recognise any key press. Caps lock also doesn’t light up. Tried running the diagnostics and no fault found, with error code ADP000 returned.

any ideas?

You could try restarting your Mac, (Apple Menu > Restart):

eg: will often clear difficulties, and restore order.

Else:

What to do: If your Mac doesn’t respond to key presses – Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Make sure Slow Keys is turned off. If Slow Keys is on, you must press and hold a key longer than usual before it’s recognised". and "Make sure Mouse Keys is off".

or

You may want to check whether another setting has been accidentally triggered.

Change Keyboard settings for accessibility on Mac – Apple Support

If nothing has helped:

Wondering which MacOS version is installed, and if an update would help,

What's new in the updates for macOS Ventura - Apple Support says 13.2.1 is latest.

All the best :-)
