Is there a way to turn on ScreenSaver longer?

Is there a way to turn on ScreenSaver-like action so that is displays pictures for much longer -- like hour(s) rather than brief 10 minutes or so?

Yes. Go to the System/LockScreen settings pane and set this value to whatever you'd like:
