macOS Ventura is mounting ISO files as writable -- why? Even when nothing is explicitly written to these images, their hashes change. This is messing with archived disk images that rely on hashes for integrity checking. I used the hdiutil makehybrid command for many of these, and the man page states that this should create read-only disk images.

Creating a Ventura installer drive Hi, I created a Ventura installer drive on a 16GB SanDisk Cruiser Blade. I formatted it in Disk Utility as MacOS Extended (Journaled). Then I used Terminal to create an installer drive. I was able to create ONE drive, but after that every attempt met with this error: "Error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=513 "“Install macOS Ventura” couldn’t be copied because you don’t have permission to access “Install macOS Ventura”." Disk Utility "Operation Failed with status 13" on M1-Mac but not on Intel-Mac? Hi there, In order to secure some of the old (vintage) DVD's I have, I have been looking for a way to convert them to disk images. With Disk Utility on my old (2015) intel Macbook Air it works (slowly), but with my M1Max 16"Macbook Pro I am getting "Operation failed with status 13: Permission denied" (when trying on exactly the same source DVD ...) Is there somewhere a hidden security setting on M1's that I should be looking for so that it works the same as on the old machine? Any feedback would be appreciated, Philip
