New iMac and new Epson xp-7100 printer. When I try to open the Epson print CD app, it keeps crashing and won't open. Is it something to do with permissions? (That's the only info I could glean from reading past forums)

I have an Epson XP-820 and have used PrintCD on it in the past. However with Ventura (13.2.1), it won't open. On my Mac with 12.6.3, it also won't open. I have an older MacBook Air with Big Sur MacOS 11, and it does open with that one.
Noting that the latest version of PrintCD 2.42 dates from 2016 according to Epson's web site, maybe in retrospect it is not surprising that it doesn't work with recent MacOS. My printer was purchased in 2015, so it's pretty old.
I don't see a more recent of PrintCD on the Epson web site to download. Maybe the next step is to contact Epson?
Meanwhile I see a software called Swift Publisher that claims to be able to print on printable CDs/DVDs for a variety of printers that includes Canon, Epson etc.
I have looked into this some more. I opened a ticket with Epson but have not received helpful answers from them.
Meanwhile, on my Mac with Ventura, if I Safe Boot, PrintCD open and runs properly (in Safe Mode).
Also, I have a separate, generic user account, with admin privileges, on this computer. When I log into that, PrintCD works also!
Not sure what this all means, except maybe something installed is interfering.
I suggest you boot into Safe Mode, does it work there. Also, create a new admin user, with nothing installed for that user. Does PrintCD work there for you?
I finally figured this out by bumbling around!!.... I had removed all the old Epson software and re-installed the most recent version of Epson Print CD because somewhere on Epson site I read that was one I needed. But that still kept crashing. Then I found the newest software to print on my CD in the Epson Photo+ application
There was a good help guide there and now I am back on track.

Please look on Epson’s support sight for any software updates for your printer and OS 12.6.

thanks for your reply but I see all my crash reports...but I guess I don't know how to read them or what I am looking for that would help me solve problem of having Epson CD print app keep crashing???
