Signal Extension for Apple TV 4K Siri Remote

I have an Apple TV 4K Wi-Fi + Ethernet, 128GB Storage (2023) installed in a back box behind a 75” Samsung Frame TV. The Siri remote’s Bluetooth signal doesn’t quite make it through to my couch about 12 feet away. The remote works fine within 5 feet, so the signal is obviously being blocked by the TV.

I have the Sonos Arc soundbar installed below the TV, which is controllable via the Siri Remote.

Does anyone know a way to improve the signal distance without moving the device from the back box?

Or can the remote be used with an IR sensor? Maybe through the Sonos Arc or Frame TV’s sensors.

Note: I have this same setup in my living room. The Apple TV device and remote is one hardware version older (2021) than the newest version and it works fine at 12 feet away. The only other difference is the Frame TV is 55”.

Greetings K3mike,

Since you are having issues with wireless interference, these are some great things to consider:

"How to reduce wireless interference

These general steps can help achieve a cleaner, stronger wireless signal:

  • Bring your Wi-Fi device closer to your Wi-Fi router. Bring the Bluetooth devices that are connecting to each other closer together.
  • Avoid using your wireless devices near common sources of interference, such as power cables, microwave ovens, fluorescent lights, wireless video cameras, and cordless phones.
  • Reduce the number of active devices that use the same wireless frequency band. Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices use the 2.4 GHz band, but many Wi-Fi devices can use the 5 GHz band instead. If your Wi-Fi router supports both bands, it might help to connect more of your Wi-Fi devices to the 5GHz band. Some dual-band routers manage this for you automatically.
  • Configure your Wi-Fi router to use a different Wi-Fi channel, or have it scan for the channel with the least interference. Most routers perform this scan automatically on startup or when reset." Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference

We hope this helps to resolve the issue.

Best wishes.
