The Quick Action "Create PDF" in Finder worked until I updated to Ventura 13.2.1 - now it tells me that "there was a problem running the action" Has anyone else having this problem?
Don't know if it is connected, but my Adobe Acrobat quit combining files when I updated to Ventura.

Thanks for this. I created 2 shortcuts. 1 to combine to PDF and save into the parent directory of original files, and one to split a PDF into multiple pages into the parent directory or original PDF. Both accessible from Quick Actions. Works great, only downside is Shortcuts asks for permission for parent directory if it hasn't received authorization for that folder before. For Desktop, I imagine this happens once, but it could get a little annoying. The alert requesting permission does respond to a press of the return key though.

The Create PDF Quick Action on macOS 13.2.1 works just fine when selecting mulitple PDFs to combine. It used to create a random name for the result but now it attempts to create the same named PDF as the first selected, and instead of overwriting it, it creates a version 2 of it in the Finder.
This happened to me as soon a I updated to 13.2.1
Creating a PDF from large amounts of images through finder quick action is an essential part of my workflow. I cant figure out a solution to this its never had an issue before this.
My Create PDF quick action is no longer working either. Prior to the Ventura 13.2.1 update, when using the action it would always perform exactly like VikingOSX described. However, now I just get the error "There was a problem running the action."
It works for me on intel (MBP 16”) and Apple Silicon (Mac Studio M1 Max). I did migrate my account from one to the other, and had the Service from before.
There is a shortcut for creating pdf in the Shortcuts application, but I failed to make it work. It could be user error, as I am not yet very handy with Shortcuts.
For me, nothing works. I downloaded the shortcut and it did not help.. the same issue. My mac is 2017 pro with 13.2.1 (22D68). It just stoped working and it had been working before for years. Is there any other work around I can use to combine pdfs?
The name Create PDF is somewhat misleading as one can select (compatible) images and PDFs and this Quick Action will generate a new PDF in the same location as the first selected item, with each selected item on a new page or pages in the case of multipage PDFs.

It's working perfectly for me. Just as VikingOSX said, it is creating a file named after the first file selected, possibly with numbers after it.
When trying to combine multiple PDFs using the create PDF in Quick actions, I m getting this error. It worked fine before I installed the macOS Ventura 13.2.1. Please assist.
How would you un/reinstall Mac Finder?
That’s not a thing. You could reinstall macOS but this seems like a bug in 13.2.1 (perhaps only on apple silicon) so I doubt reinstalling will fix anything.
With Ventura there is no "Create PDF" action in Automator. There's only a "PDF from Images" action.
I'm saying it works on Intel, but not on my M2 Pro Mac mini, so I'm thinking it might be an apple silicon + macOS 13.2.1 bug.
what version of macOS are you running on the studio?
