How do keep the iPad unlocked, but still use Touch ID for wallet, iTunes, and passwords?

I use my iPad as media device and would like to keep it unlocked for guests to be able to use to cue up media. But, I would also like to keep Touch ID enabled to prevent anyone from making purchases from my wallet, making purchases in the iTunes Store, and using the password manager.

I can’t seem to find a way to NOT require a code to unlock the iPad but still utilize Touch ID for all of the other features it works with - it seems to be all or nothing. I can “Turn passcode off” but that automatically turns off all the Touch ID features, or I can deselect “iPad unlock” from the Touch ID menu, but then that requires that I key in the passcode to unlock the device. Help!

iPad mini 6, iPadOS 16

You cannot. Touch ID requires a passcode be in place.
