Over the past 5-6 months, my ipad has had a bright orange discolouration around the edges. I have checked online to see if anyone else has the same problem, and if there were any cheap remedies. Its really bugging me, and it just isn’t going away. Also, I can move the spots around the screen if I apply pressure. The colours are normally like a peachy orange, but on worse days it can be blue/purple

That is evidence that your hard case is putting excessive compressional or torque forces on your iPad's case. That could explain both the marks being near the edges as well as the marks moving when you apple pressure.
Remove the iPad from the case and see if the marks change or disappear. I suspect you need to find a kinder, gentler solution.
