Can somebody see my Apple ID first and last name if they have my number?
Unfortunately yesterday I accidentally posted my number in a public online forum and was subsequently texted by a handful of different people. I texted one of them back, but this was through regular text and not iMessage as they owned an android phone. Obviously this whole thing has been rather stressful for me as I don’t really understand the intricacies of Apple ID nor iCloud. So to better understand how severe this security issue is id like to ask a few questions.
- Is the name on my Apple ID shared with anybody who texted me, even if I didn’t message them back?
- If so, would this have only applied if that person was using an iPhone and subsequently iMessage?
- Lastly, I currently have 3 Apple ID accounts. My phone number is linked to each one, are all 3 Apple IDs compromised now?
Please let me know if I can do a better job of asking these questions as I understand it can be frustrating working with a novice such as myself. I’ve never encountered these types of issues before, and subsequently am not sure how to ask certain things. I appreciate your help.
