Can somebody see my Apple ID first and last name if they have my number?

Unfortunately yesterday I accidentally posted my number in a public online forum and was subsequently texted by a handful of different people. I texted one of them back, but this was through regular text and not iMessage as they owned an android phone. Obviously this whole thing has been rather stressful for me as I don’t really understand the intricacies of Apple ID nor iCloud. So to better understand how severe this security issue is id like to ask a few questions.

  1. Is the name on my Apple ID shared with anybody who texted me, even if I didn’t message them back?
  2. If so, would this have only applied if that person was using an iPhone and subsequently iMessage?
  3. Lastly, I currently have 3 Apple ID accounts. My phone number is linked to each one, are all 3 Apple IDs compromised now?

Please let me know if I can do a better job of asking these questions as I understand it can be frustrating working with a novice such as myself. I’ve never encountered these types of issues before, and subsequently am not sure how to ask certain things. I appreciate your help.

The only information that people have is your mobile number. Even if they had messaged you through iMessage, they would not have access to any additional information. Your Apple ID is not compromised.

The only thing that person has (unless you gave them information in the body of the text) is your mobile number.

If there was personally identifiable information in the original forum post and someone is determined enough, they may be able to find out more about you. But, the number alone will not give them access to your accounts or your Apple ID.

Apps like Facebook try to get people to sync their contact lists to the app so Facebook (or WhatsApp or whoever) have access to a larger pool of potential customers. That feature doesn't allow other FB users to get access to you unless you already have an FB account that doesn't have sufficient privacy settings enabled. But, then, anyone could find out information about you that way. They don't need your phone number. Make sure you have your FB account locked down. Or, better yet, delete it.
