For some reason, I can no longer import a calendar event into MS Outlook for Mac. Any idea why? I have MS Outlook for Mac v 16.7 and I'm using my company Office 365 subscription. My Macbook Pro software is up to date with v.OSVentura 13.2.1.

Hi 711husker,

Thanks for clarifying for us. If you are only noticing this within the Microsoft Outlook for Mac app, then you could see if quitting that app and restarting your MacBook Pro may help, as that might refresh the app and macOS and resolve unexpected issues.

If needed, the steps below show how to quit an app:

  • "To quit an app, choose App Name > Quit App in the menu bar. For example, choose Preview > Quit Preview (or press the keyboard shortcut Command-Q)."

That information is from this article: Quit apps on Mac - Apple Support This article goes over how to restart a Mac device: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

If the issue continues, we recommend working with the app developer for further assistance with their app. This article shows how to reach out to them: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Best wishes.

Hey there 711husker,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

To clarify, are you using the Calendar app on your Mac to sync these events? If so, make sure you're using the steps to import events here:

You can import the events saved in a calendar (.ics) file. You can use this method to transfer calendar events in the On My Mac section of your calendar list to iCloud, merge events with a pre-existing calendar, or transfer calendar events to another device.
1. In the Calendar app  on your Mac, if needed, create a new calendar for the events.
2. Do any of the following:
• Drag the exported calendar file into Calendar.
• Choose File > Import, select the exported calendar file, then click Import.
3. Select the calendar to add the events to, then click OK.
Note: Importing a calendar file removes the event’s previous custom color.

Continue here for additional guidance: Import or export calendars on Mac - Apple Support

Take care!

No, I don't use the Apple Calendar app, iCloud or Apple Mail. All calendar events and mail are managed within the MS Outlook for Mac. I've had 3 Macbooks since 2011 and I've never had this issue until last week. It's only occurring when I tried to download and add a meeting invite from a webinar I'd like to attend. Everything works fine if someone sends an invite directly to my calendar.
