"Error composing block page" on iPad 9th generation, does not seem to be related to Safari at all

I cannot find a solution anywhere on here or on the web for the error message, "Error composing block page" that pops up on my daughter's iPad in the most unfortunate places. I have not noticed a pattern yet, but every search I do on the internet says it has to do with Safari. I'm not sure what Safari has to do with it, but what do I know? :)

She'll be doing something and then get the error and it's a hard stop. Nothing gets out of that page with the error message.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

Hey katayron,

First, we'd recommend checking for and installing any updates that may be available for your iPad as an update may resolve the issue. This article explains how: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If that doesn't help, you may want to provide some additional information about the situation.

Is the error message appearing in a Safari browser window? If not, what app does the error appear to be launching in?

Which version of iPadOS is running on the iPad?

When the error appears, which apps are running on the device? What options does it give you in the error message?

Thanks!

Hey there katayron,

Do you have any parental controls and Screen Time set up on your daughter’s iPad? If so, turn those off temporarily and see if the issues continues. This could further isolate the cause of this.

If not, go through the following steps to see if this is related to Safari:

Connect to a different network

Try to load a website, like www.apple.com, using cellular data. If you don't have cellular data, connect to a different Wi-Fi network and then load the website.

If you're using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), check your VPN settings. If you have a VPN turned on, some apps or websites might block content from loading.

Restart your device

Turn off your device and turn it on again.

* Restart your iPad

Clear website data

You can clear website data occasionally to improve Safari performance.

1. Go to Settings > Safari.
2. Tap Clear History and Website Data.
3. Tap Clear History and Data to confirm.

Turn on JavaScript

Turn on JavaScript if it's not already on.

1. Go to Settings > Safari > Advanced.
2. Find the JavaScript feature.
3. Tap the button to turn on JavaScript.

If Safari isn't loading websites or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

We hope this helps. Take care.

I did check all updates, everything was good.

It does happen in safari as well. I just tried to install gmail on the iPad and when it was time to sign in, the window for signing in just said "Error composing block page"

So I go to Safari and google "Error composing block page" and the screen that comes up says "Error composing block page"

"Error composing block page" on iPad 9th generation, does not seem to be related to Safari at all
