security question: restore encrypted backup using Ultdata

Hi all.

I have a backup to iTunes, and I used Ultdata software to restore the backup (because I do not want to restore everything, I just want to restore the apple note app). When I opened Ultdata it found the backup (showing size and date) all correct. I clicked on restore so that I can preform the restoration process. Then it asked to enter the password for the encryption data. I enter the password and then thought it could be wrong doing so. Then I stopped the process at 60%.

the question here, I have never used Ultdata software and I really do not know what it is, I was just trying to restore my backup. Is my data now compromised? can someone actually get my data "the software developer" and restore it to a devise they have to have access to my passwords that I have saved on the iPhone?

I will just provide a scenario to understand how apple backup works.

If Jhon give me his iPhone to take a backup to iTunes on my computer, and I did mark the encryption box to have the health data and passwords backed up as well. Can I restore Jhon backup to my phone? If yes, will I get all of his data like photos, videos, apps, settings, health data, passwords ...etc?

Now that you have a better understanding of my issue, is my data compromised now? espessaly the passwards save on my phone?

"Ultdata" is not and Apple product. For help with that application, you need to contact the developer.

Yes, you can restore that back up to your phone if you have the password. It will overwrite everything currently on your phone. You will get all the data that was back up. Apps are not part of a backup.

As noted, if you restore someone else's back up to your phone, it will delete all your data. So, unless you have a back up of your data that you could then restore, the data is not compromised, it's just gone.

Hallo Apple-usern,

Thank you for your response.

We have a question when we read it. That's “why you thought it was wrong.”

Even if we made a mistake, if we know the cause, can't we take measures? We also think so and are considering it every day, so if there is anything we can explain, if you can write it so that a third party can understand, you may be able to get an answer from a detailed person. So thank you.

Well then, we wish you good luck.

Regards,
