The Wi-Fi card on my iMac has failed and can no longer receive a signal to the computer. Since it’s a “vintage” machine (2015), parts are no longer guaranteed. Since the computer still works, looking for a usb wifi adapter that I could use instead.
Any recommendations on type/model/ manufacturer, that will work Apple and the operating system?

If not, Amazon has a much larger selection of Wi-Fi adapters to choose from.
FWIW you can also use an Ethernet cable, if your iMac is near enough to the Router.
Was the shop an Apple Authorized Service Provider or a general computer repair shop. If it was not an Apple Authorized Service Provider then you did not get a proper diagnostic done as the shop did not have the proper tools.
You can use the following for a USB Wi-Fi adapter if that is what is needed.
Why do you think the internal Wi-Fi on the iMac has failed? You may only need to do some basic troubleshooting to find out. For example, have you reset your modem and router and then restarted the iMac in Safe Mode? Yes, even if all other wi-fi devices work okay.
By the way, do you have any third party:
• antivirus
• cleaning
• VPN
• "maintenance" apps
installed on the computer??

Took the iMac into the shop for a diagnostic.
The results indicate Wi-Fi card needs to be replaced.
The shop is Apple authorized.
