External Blu ray/dvd drivers.
Is there a external Blu ray/dvd driver that works with Ventura that any one is aware of?
MacBook Air 13″, 12.6

I use a Pioneer BDR-X13U-S which works great. You will also need a Blu-ray app like Blu-Ray Player Pro to view Blu-Ray movies. Many other players will also work with the accompanying app.

I've had this $90 drive since 2019. It's also a burn, not just read drive. Works just fine, but is now a discontinued model. It's also one of those things on Amazon where you'll find a dozen identical looking items that all have different manufacturer's names.
There are a lot of them to pick from on Amazon. The ones pretty much guaranteed to work are from OWC. You can see all of their products at macsales.com. $129 for this one.
i like the Apple USB SuperDrive. i have been well served by mine. and it's given me a long life as well. but some users have found them troublesome so you may want to look at the options available at OWC.
if you decide on the superdrive, you will need an USB-C to USB Adapter to connect it to an M1 Mac.
No. Check with the Blu-ray/dvd vendor to see what operating systems the device is intended to be used with, and if they have issued a firmware update for their device to improve that compatibility. Apple has no control over external hardware device compatibility, especially since they have never supported Blu-ray in the operating system.
sorry, I neglected to say that the SuperDrive is NOT blu-ray capable.
