Text messages are wrongly identified as received today (old conversations)

For 3 years now this happens and I start to get annoyed by it. Very old text from years ago appear every day as if they have been received at 3am the night before. I keep having those old conversations on top of my messages lists. Very annoying.

this is only valid on about 15 conversations, the rest is well updated by date.

how to fix this? I saw other threads without solutions on this platform so I know I am not the only one. I do updates regularly and it changed nothing and I close my apps.

what else should I do?

iPhone 11, iOS 16

Hello delphine209,

Thanks for the additional details. If you haven't already, we suggest checking to see if there are any software updates for your iPhone. Software updates often sort out unexpected behavior like this. They also ensure you have the latest features and security updates. Before updating, we suggest creating a backup of your device using these steps: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Then, follow the instructions here for updating iOS: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If the issue persists, we suggest you contact Apple Support. They'll be able to look into this with you further.

Take care.

Hi, I do not remember trying to delete messages from the "returning" ones.

Here is a screenshot also of the limit between this 3am daily updates vs the "normal" ones.

Second screenshot is the proof that I do not use iCloud (as it is full and I do not want to pay for it).

Some messages are from people I care about that are no more with us and I would really love to keep them as long as possible. Thank you
