Lost itunes icon from desktop

I have lost the itunes icon form my desktop. When I search for it, it doesn't show up. I tried to download it again but get the message that I must uninstall previous version 1st. Hard to do when I can't find it

You should be able to find iTunes in your start menu. Click in the search box and type. You could potentially restore the icon from the recycle bin, copy it out of the start menu, pin iTunes to the task bar when it is running, or repair your iTunes installation from the programs and features control panel.
