When I text myself, why do I see it twice, both in blue and in grey? And why does the grey come first?
To be clear, Im not reporting an issue. Im just curious what aspects of the text cause that grey “response” to suddenly appear before my blue “sent” message.

Looks entirely expected to me, for a connection where self (right, bubbles are blue or green) and other (left, grey bubbles) are the same person. This shows you as self, and you as other.
One of the few reasons to do this would be to timestamp stuff.
