Facetime on MacBook Pro M1 not able to share screen

Hi guys,

I am on a MacBook Pro 16" 2021 M1 and I am not able to share my screen in a call on my Mac.

Sometimes it shares my second screen although I chose to share my main screen - or it's not possible to share anything at all. To share single windows or applications doesn't work either.

What's the reason?

I run the latest OS (13.2.1)

Best,

Luke

Hello lukekeywalker,

This page can help provide assistance with using SharePlay to share screens via FaceTime: Use SharePlay to share screens in FaceTime on Mac - Apple Support

Share your screen
1. While on a FaceTime call on your Mac, open an app you want to share in the call.
2. In the menu bar, click the FaceTime button .
3. Click the Screen Share button , then do one of the following:
•Share the app window: Choose Window, move the pointer to the app you want to share, then click Share This Window.
•Share the whole screen: Choose Screen, move the pointer to any part of the screen, then click Share This Screen.
To stop sharing, click the FaceTime button  in the menu bar, then click the Stop Sharing button.

Be sure to also check and see if the other user on the FaceTime call is also using macOS 12.

The page will also help to provide the following note:

Note: Some apps that support SharePlay require a subscription to participate. Not all features and content are available in all countries or regions. See the Apple Support article Availability of Apple Media Services.

Cheers.
