QuarkXpress v. 8,5 on Mojave 10.14 or Catalina 10.15?

Hi!

My dad is using a Imac (24 inch) from early 2009. It's currently running MacOs X Lion 10.7.5. But to be able to use Microsoft Teams, he needs to upgrade the computer to 10.11.x.

He is still using old versions of QuarkXpress (version 8,5) and Photoshop CS6 (v. 13.0.6, x64).

Now I´m trying to figure out if we can upgrade his Imac to High Sierra 10.13, Mojave 10.14 or maybe Catalina 10.15 WITHOUT installing an os version that is not compatible with QuarkXpress v. 8,5 and Photoshop CS6.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

If it is a Late-2009 iMac, it can upgrade to macOS High Sierra (10.13.6) and no further. If earlier than that, then it can only upgrade to El Capitan (10.11.6). You would have to contact Quark about what versions they support on those operating systems and whether v8.5 remains compatible, or they even offer any software now for those qualified macOS upgrades.

These are the system requirements for Quark 8.

OS

• Mac OS® X 10.4 (Tiger®) or Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard™)

Hardware

• G5 or faster PowerPC® processor or Mac® Intel® processor (G4 minimum)

• 1GB RAM (256MB minimum)

• 1GB hard disk space

Optional

• An Internet connection for activation

It barely, just barely qualifies to run on an Intel based Mac.
