Procedure to restore photo's shared library

Hi Apple fans!

I kindly request a procedure how to restore our shared photos folder for me and my wife.

I am sorry that this text is quite long but I am trying to Cleary explain my issue..

Preamble:

HW affected:

iMac2017 and Mac-Book 2020 M1 (both on o/s Ventura 13.2.1), 2x IE12, 2x iPad Air 2

Photo's app has 160k pictures (700GB)

Issue:

Kindly request procedure on how to restore the shared picture library again visible on all our devices.

Incident:

Had an issue on my MAC (probably storage shortage) that deleted many of my photos locally and this spread to iCloud and then all my devices except my wife’s IE12 and iPad Air2 which still has the full (old) photo library visible. (I.e. both her’s and mine photos.)

Action taken so far:

I have managed to restore all photos back to my MAC from Time Machine and all are now in my personal album

(”all” = includes my wife’s photos taken with IE12 from former shared album).

I.e Time Machine (or Photos app while repairing) has merged all photos into one and ”my album”

(I have also made similar restore the iMac.)

Request:

By standard I can only have one shared folder but I cannot create a new one on my Mac. (Ref to picture)

Probably I need to remove my wife from the share on her phone and then add her again?

Loosing her library as a consequence..

There are many switches and settings for this in iCloud and Photo app so I am pretty nervous to just flip switches backlashing to lose my restored MAC’s library agn.

How do I get to the point to create a new share with my wife agn?

I ask kindly for a specialist's thoughts and kindly make me a procedure?

Additionally and finally:

I have a further issue/consequence regarding face recognition that occurres on my MAC after the successful restore of the photo library. My automatic face (people) recognition has stopped.  I can add faces manually but the app don’t suggest names on new pics as before.

When viewing people in private or shared library there are none to be found. (See 3 pictures)

But can when viewing ”both libraries” and pressing button I can see an old version of my 450 persons.. (One image also shows that it will scan 160372 pics but this never starts/happens)

I have made several repairs to the MAC's library.

Thanks for reading all this text! Sorry for being longwinded..

Your suggestion ideas and reply will be much appreciated!

Hoping..

Happy Friday!

If, as you say, you need help from a specialist, you should contact professional Apple Support personnel through the "Support" link at the bottom left corner of this page. We here in this Support Community are mostly users trying to help each other use Apple's products, plus a few Apple people supplying simple solutions (or referrals to Apple Support).

As a fellow user, I note that one of the screen shot you supplied showed "iCloud Photos is syncing." How long did you wait for that to happen?

Hi!

Thanks loads for your reply. I will move this case to support as suggested.

Ref yr question, nothing is syncing since I restored fm T.M. Not people's faces nor the shared photo lib.

The shared folders on my portables are all different than on my Mac so there is definitely a sync problem. All my units are on same AID, except my wife's who still sees the original library😳 on her portables shared to her AID.

Thanks for your time!

Felt good just to discuss this with someone!
