This is called screen image persistence.

If your iPad is experiencing this, you need to charge up this iPad, then fully power down and stop using this iPad for a period of 3-4 days.

5 days of being powered down and not being used would be ideal.

Let the screen “de-energize itself for a prolonged period of time.

If you cheat and power up this iPad early only to find the screen ghosting is still present, you will need to start the entire iPad power down process, again, for another 3-5 days.

After4-5 days of complete non-use of this iPad, the ghosting should go away for quite some time (it can return ).

The best way to keep the screen image ghosting at bay is to stop using your iPad at full screen brightness and reduce screen brightness to 80% or even lower brightness to a pount where you can still see the iPad's screen image at a usable and still comfortable level.

Hello mismist,

We're not quite sure what you mean by 'ghosting'. Are you experiencing an issue where images linger on your screen after switching to a new image? Or perhaps a false touch on the iPad display? If it is either of those issues, please take a look at the following support articles that might help:

If these articles don't resolve the behavior, please get back with us and provide more details on the issue you are facing so we can better assist. Thanks and take care!
