Allow a shape with a border to become a window for what is behind it?

In Pages - Ventura 13.2.1 — I have two objects. And Oval with Border, and a Picture. How do I make the Oval with Border become a window so the picture shows through (inside) the oval with Border? Thank you.

Select the image (you don't need an oval object on top), and under Pages menu Format, select Image > Mask with Shape > Oval. Once you have the correct shape click on Done, and in Toolbar select Format > Border.

Or select the image and oval object, and under Pages menu Format, select Image > Mask with Selection, and continue as above.
