Auto LOCK not working on 16.3.1

Auto lock feature isn’t working for my iPad. I have set the timer for 2 minutes but the screen doesn’t auto lock after 2 minutes, after 5 minutes or so the screen dims and lightens up again. I tried resetting all the settings, restarting the iPad, turning of low power mode, resetting the auto lock, resetting the iPad with iTunes to factory settings but nothing works. Can anyone help me out with this issue?

Hi shazore,

Just to rule this out, are you using or touching the iPad at all during this time? Movement of, or use of the display on the iPad resets that time out timer.

If that is not the case, do you have any restrictions or profiles enabled on this iPad? Either may also change how the auto-lock function works.

You can check your restrictions under Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. As to if a profile is installed, check out the steps below: Add or remove configuration profiles in Apple Configurator - Apple Support

"Remove configuration profiles

  1. Select the devices or Blueprints in the device window, then do one of the following:
    • Choose Actions > Remove > Profiles.
    • Control-click the selected devices or Blueprints, and choose Remove > Profiles.
  1. Reconfirm that you want to remove the profiles, then click Remove."

Let us know if that helps.

Cheers!
