hello i am having trouble editing the stop times of songs for example a song i like goes on with the artist talking for a minute and i would like the next song to start. So i edit the song to end early but for some reason it only registers the shorter time in the graphic and not the song file itself. I find this weird as the option to change the start time of the song is working fine. Can someone help me thanks
When you set start and stop times you're telling Music what portion of the song to play, but it remains at the original length. I believe the stop time may not be respected if you use AirPlay either. To make a shorter version see Convert a song to a different (or same) file format with the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows - Apple Support to make a copy, which will only include the selected interval.
You can uncheck the original copy so that it is excluded from normal track to track and shuffle play, and perhaps add [Edit] to the name of the new copy so that it is clear that you've made a change.

To clarify, are you using Lossless audio? To check, go to Music > Settings > Playback - Check to see if Lossless Audio is checked. If so, turn it off and test things out further.
