I just purchased iPad Pro 12.9 2022 model and the battery life is absolutely rubbish. My partner’s 8 years old iPad lasts way longer than my one. I have everything switched off, no notifications, no background app refresh, no Bluetooth. My iPad definitely is not lasting the advertised 10 hours max 4 and I’m using it very light, no games a bit of safari, YouTube and Netflix. Is this common for everyone. Is this a recent change related to os update or it is related to m2 or screen. Can anyone who own the same iPad longer advise? I’m wonder of yours experience.

Apple wants you to update your device, plain and simple. Really sad on their part. I bought a new Ipad 2 days ago at Best Buy with the intention of restoring from backup of my 6 th gen Ipad. I backed it up before going to get the 9th gen model. Got home and attempted to do the restore. It was backed up on Itunes. Came to find out the backup had mysteriously been encrypted although I never use encryption and Know for a fact I did not enter a password and it kept requiring a password. It would not let me access the backup. I had another older backup that would not transfer. I tried the quick start? putting them side by side which also wouldn't work. I finally got a message I needed to update IOS on old Ipad to IOS on new one. And as I found out the old one would not update to new one's IOS and therefore the transfer would not work. Took it back to Best Buy and was told by Geek Squad they had no way to transfer either and I should go to an Apple store because they had a magic way to possibly do it. I returned it and am now in the market for a Dell 2 in 1. Also my 6th Gen drains with not a minute of use making it worthless. Apple will soon be history in our home. One of the least user friendly products known to man.

This official Apple response is unhelpful and condescending. It really shows a lack of understanding. We all know here how to minimize battery drain using features basic such as low power mode or preventing apps with high-demanding power needs from being used in the background, or checking our battery health readouts in settings, etc. NO ONE in the thread is asking for base-level user tutorials on how to manage their device. My situation, for example, a near brand new iPad mini, loses 10% battery every THIRTY MINUTES by reading and typing in a journal. Usually, yes, I turn on low power mode, but I shouldn’t have to do that unless Apple is deliberately false advertising, which I know that isn’t the case because I’m not new to Apple products- my household currently has in use an old SE (used as a music box), old iPad, old iPad pro, MacBook Pro, iPhone 11, iPhone SE 2022… you get the picture. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH OUR BATTERY POWER MANAGEMENT AND YOU AREN’T HELPING.
