Update Apple ID Settings Loop

I’m stuck in an Update Apple ID settings loop. It shows at the top of settings, I click and log in, it just goes back to the beginning again. If I enter an incorrect password it tells me it’s wrong, so that’s not it. I’ve tried everything recommended in the 2020 bug issue posts I found here, nothing works. Restarting, updating carrier settings, resetting settings, etc. the only thing u didn’t try is wiping the phone completely, and I’m really trying to avoid it.

it’s affecting my air tags (removed current tags and won’t let me add a new one, saying I have to update my Apple ID settings to sync it).

how can I fix this? It’s been like this for months but I really need a fix. The last two updates didn’t help.

I’ve also started getting stuck in FaceTime, it says a call is in progress but won’t force close, won’t open the call (that’s not really happening), the only way to even reset the phone is via settings. Holding the buttons don’t work. This started happening around when the Update Apple ID loop started, which is why I’m mentioning it.

when I try to update the security settings in Apple ID settings I get the below pop up. I can’t set up legacy contact, account recovery, nada when I click continue it logs me in then nothing
