Missing thumbnail photos in Photos app when connected to iPhone.
Hi,
I have an iPhone12 Pro w/256G of storage. The iOS version is 16.1.1. Since I have enough local storage on my iPhone 12, I've chosen to not have iCloud turned on/enabled on my iPhone. My preference is to store my photos and videos locally, and then backup everything on my iPhone to my Mac mini. I've taken quite a number of pictures since purchasing my iPhone 12. When I connect my iPhone to the Photos app on my Mac mini (macOS Monterey, v12.6.3) using a USB cable and select "My iPhone" under the "Devices" section in Photos, some of the newer thumbnail photos I've taken over the last several years only show up as blank thumbnails with 2 overlapping squares. Many of the other other thumbnails in the Photos app display a small opaque camera icon in the upper left corner or a small round activity icon in the upper left of the thumbnail, or are just blank.
I've tried a number of posted solutions on yours and various other Support sites with no change in symptoms. There seems to be a problem with detecting new photos in the Photos app on my Mac mini as all my photos, both recent and past are all present on my iPhone. I'm out of ideas as to why many of the recent photos I've taken show up as blank thumbnails in the Photos app on my Mac mini. I've attached a couple of screenshots of what I'm seeing.
Thank you,
Jon
