Search feature (Spotlight) not working on MBP running Ventura 13.0.1.

I have Ventura 13.0.1. The search feature on my Mac was not locating existing files.

I followed the instructions for rebuilding the Spotlight index on my Mac (through System Settings - Siri & Spotlight - Spotlight Privacy - then adding and removing the locations (user folders.)

Nothing happened. Clicking in the Spotlight field, there was no notice of indexing.

How do I fix this?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.0

first let me say—

Ventura 13.0.1. this was the initial release of the new macOS back in October 24, 2022

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes, security updates is macOS Ventura 13.2.1
