Hello mjugend,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

Let's try these steps to see if the webpage starts loading correctly:

"If you can't load a website or webpage, or Safari quits unexpectedly, follow these steps.

Connect to a different network

Try to load a website, like www.apple.com, using cellular data. If you don't have cellular data, connect to a different Wi-Fi network and then load the website.

If you're using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), check your VPN settings. If you have a VPN turned on, some apps or websites might block content from loading.

Restart your device

Turn off your device and turn it on again.

Clear website data

You can clear website data occasionally to improve Safari performance.

  1. Go to Settings > Safari.
  2. Tap Clear History and Website Data.
  3. Tap Clear History and Data to confirm.

Turn on JavaScript

Turn on JavaScript if it's not already on.

  1. Go to Settings > Safari > Advanced.
  2. Find the JavaScript feature.
  3. Tap the button to turn on JavaScript."

More details can be found here: If Safari isn't loading websites or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? Which iPadOS version re you currently using? Also, does this happen on all websites?

Cheers!

A 2012 1st gen iPad Mini is 10-1/2 years old.

No apps for such old iPads and that almost 7-year old Safari Web browser maybe too old and unsecure for most modern, current Websites.

There have been no upgrades/updates for such old iPads since 2015/2016.

Try this ONLY “new-ish” third party Web browser for iOS 9 that is left for compatibility with iOS 9.

Alook Web browser.

This may or may not help, this developer is still developing and updating this ONLY iOS 9 compatible Web browser left.

Sorry.

You need to consider that it is 2023, now.

iPadOS 16.3 is the current iOS/iPadOS version.

These 8 to 9-year old, iOS 12 iPad models are coming to the full end of their support life.

These very old iPad models are 7 OS iterations behind, now.

You really need to seriously consider a purchase of a new iPad model OR a much, MUCH “newer” and less expensive, refurbished or used iPad models, from better known, trusted sources, like other Apple product/device retailers/resellers, some locally or from online, on the Web/Internet, capable of running the latest iPadOS versions.

There are PLENTY of newer, older iPad models that can run the latest, current versions of iPadOS.

If you need OR ONLY able to afford to purchase older, less expensive iPad models, look at older IPads from 2015 and later.

All of these older model iPads below CAN, currently, run the latest releases of iPadOS 16.

2015-2017, 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2016 9.7 inch screen iPad Pro models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2017, 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2018 11 inch or 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro models ( 2nd gen Pencil support )

2020 11 inch or 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro models ( 2nd gen Pencil support )

2017, 9.7 inch screen iPad 5th gen models ( NO Pencil support )

2018, 9.7 inch screen iPad 6th gen models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2019, 10.2 inch screen iPad 7th gen models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2020, 10.2 inch screen iPad 8th gen models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2020, 10.2 inch screen iPad 8th gen models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2018, 11 inch or 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro models ( 2nd gen Pencil support )

2019, 10.5 inch screen iPad Air 3rd gen models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2021 10.9 inch screen iPad Air 4th gen models ( 2nd gen Pencil support )

2019, 7.9 inch screen iPad Mini 5th gen models ( 1st gen Pencil support )

2021 8.3 inch screen iPad Mini 6th gen models ( 2nd gen Pencil support )

Get the largest internal data storage model you can afford as NO Apple iOS device has ANY expandable storage.

I am sorry that you had to learn all of this, but this does not change any of the facts regarding these old iOS devices.

Sorry & Best of Luck to You!

Thanks for replying, mjugend, and that additional info, it really helps! If you are able to access the Apple website but not others, this points to an issue with the coding of those websites.

We also want to point out that this model iPad mini is an older model, so functionality maybe limited: Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty - Apple Support

Have a great day and thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

Thank you Michel, the problem is that I'm abroad and in this country is very dificult to find another one, and I have other devises that I use for my day to day duties.

I just wanted to use it to watch some exercise videos, but I don't see how to transfer from my iMac to this iPad.

Well I installed Alook but same problem, websites don't open :-(

Thanks again

Something really strange: I have one website that opens: https://www.tomsguide.com/ Does it means anything?

Any idea of how could I transfer videos into that iPad?

Thanks again

If these videos are compatible with this old an iPad ( 720p in m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats ) you would have to download these videos to your iMac, copy them to iTunes, then connect your iPad to your iMac and sync these videos through iTunes ( if a newer iMac running a much newer version of macOS, using the macOS Finder to directly transfer/copy the videos from your iMac to that old iPad, might have to be done ).

Once transferred, those videos would be found in the iOS 9 Videos app.

Your iPad would need to have sufficient storage space to accept the transfer of these videos, also.

Other than doing this, there are no other options left to you.

That iPad is just simply too old.

Sorry & Good Luck!
