Hello chadwick08!

For issues with the Apple TV remote unexpectedly disconnecting, I’d recommend trying the following steps:

  1. Ensure that tvOS is fully updated: Update your Apple TV
  2. Disconnect Apple TV from power by unplugging it. Then, reconnect and test things out again.
  3. Leave the Siri Remote charging overnight, and test again the following day.
  4. Help to rule out any interference by ensuring the Apple TV isn't enclosed in a cabinet, or behind the TV display

If you continue to have issues after trying the above steps, I would recommend following up with Apple Support directly: Get Support.
