Apple ID works on iPhone but not on Mac

My Apple ID works on my iPhone, but it does not work on my Mac. Why?

What happens when you try to log in with your Apple ID on your Mac? For example, are you seeing any error messages? If so, what do they say?


In the meantime, we recommend that you try the steps in the link below since you're having difficulty logging into your Apple ID.


If you can't connect or sign in to iCloud


We recommend the steps above because they will show you what to do if you've set up your Apple ID and need help signing in.

Sign in on your Mac
1) Choose Apple menu  > System Settings. In earlier versions of macOS, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences.
2) From the sidebar, click Sign In with your Apple ID. In earlier versions of macOS, click Sign In.
On Mac, sign in to your Apple ID in System Settings
3) Enter your Apple ID and password. 
4) If prompted, enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete sign in.
