I want to reset my Apple ID Password. My iPhone is logged onto my AppleID. The instructions for resetting are: (1) got to settings; (2) click on your name/Apple ID; (3) select Security & Password; (4) select reset password. However, when I perform step 3, it won't let me proceed to step 4 without entering my password. How do I reset my Apple ID Password? (IOS 16.1.2, iPhone 14pro)

Select, "Forgot Password". This will start you on the path to reset it/create a new password.

OOPs. This the site allows me to change my password by first entering my current password (which I don't know). There doesn't seem to be a password reset option on the website... (BTW, I get into my Apple ID account using my faceID)
I get into the "Sign-in and Security" screen. There are several options: Apple ID, Password, Account Security, Notification email, etc. Under Password, I need to enter my old (current) password to enable me to change my password. I feel stuck...

It seems like you are being automatically logged in when you visit that site!! This is good! Your Password Keychain has saved your AppleID password!
What you need to do, is go your "Passwords" in Settings (Keychain)
Search for "Apple" and find the login (to Apple) with your email address.
Your password should be saved there!
If you're on your Mac... You can view your passwords one of two ways...
Open System Preferences
On the side bar, scroll to Passwords
Type in your System Account Password (the one to log onto your computer/desktop) OR use the Finger Print Authentication
Search for the AppleID password
OR
Open Safari
From the toolbar, select Safari
Select Settings from the dropdown window
Select Passwords
Type in your System Password or use the fingerprint authenticator
Search for your AppleID password
I'm only able to log into my apple account on my iPhone using my FaceID. I am not able to log onto my account on our family MAC, which is logged into my wife's APPLE ID. From my phone, I don't see the option to view passwords, or reset my password without first entering my current (unknown) password. (sorry to drag this out)

Ok, then on your iPhone...
Go to Settings
Scroll down to "Passwords"
Search for your AppleID email address (it will probably be associated with a website like "AppleID.apple.com" or "Apple.com")...then tap on that
Tap on the password (it will be shown as "dots") and select "Reveal"
This should show you the password!
Interestingly, my wife's appleID and my daughter's Apple ID are on my list, but my own Apple ID is not. I'm certain I'm logged in to my apple account since my proper email address is my username (under settings). I don't see a way to find my password, nor reset it.
Try searching for "idmsa.apple.com" while viewing your passwords in settings. This should show all AppleID passwords.
I find it hard to conceive that your password is saved on the site (you are being logged in via FaceID), but not in your passwords in settings

You can also do this as many times as you wish...especially if you think your password may have been compromised.
Are you sure it's asking for your password and not your AppleID (username/email)?
Im glad you got in on your iPhone!
You wouldn't be able to get to the screen you're talking about without having logged into the site in the first place!
