Older images in Photos appear rainbow pixelated

Hi There,

I have a late 2009 iMac running Catalina 10.15.7. (The PC runs great so I hate to upgrade...haha) When I look at images in Photos the icons appear fine, but when I click on them I get a rainbow pixelated render. From what I can tell this happens with older images from my iphone 6. The images from my iphone 11 appear to work fine. I've attached an example and the image's info.

iMac, macOS 10.15

Have you tried to revert the photos to the originals? Open them in Edit mode and click the "Revert to Original" button in the toolbar. Does this change the photo back to normal?

You might be seeing such strange colors, if a photo has a color profile applied, that is not supported on your current system version, or, if a filter has been applied, that is not supported on your system. Sometimes reverting to the original can fix this.
