"Allow accessories to connect" Missing From Privacy & Security Settings on M1 Pro MacBook Pro In Ventura 13.2.1

The title says it all. This is a personal MacBook Pro that I use for work & the "Allow accessories to connect" is missing from the Privacy & Security settings. I even went into Safe Mode & they are still missing. This is a huge issue & I cannot use this laptop for work until this is resolved. I have seen many others also with this same issue in this forum & all over Reddit. Apple needs to get this resolved ASAP.

1 - Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

2 - Safe Mode will also eliminate Third Party Software, extensions and drivers from loading. It will only load the Minimum amount of Core Apple Processes to allow the the computer to function at a reduced Level of Performance

3 - Does the issue present in this mode ?

4 - Sometimes a Safe Boot followed by a Normal Boot will just put things right

Just to Add.

On my M2 MBA with Ventura 13.2.1 it is appearing and refer to image below

Has the user Tested to attempt attaching a Drive ?

Perhaps it Will Appear only once that is done ?

From the Report

" CleanMyMac "

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS,  is an invitation for disaster and comprising the Operating System

Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale. What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

1 - Disk Cleaner

This will include CleanMyMac , aka “ BrickMyMac

Read some of the posting and arrive at your own conclusions.

Specific to CleanMyMac aka “ BrickMyMac

The steps in #1 below is predicated on the Offending  Application has been Removed as per the Developers Specific Instruction

#1 - Some Contributors suggest restarting in Recovery Mode and choosing to Reinstall the Operating System over  the existing installation.

This may or may not replace elements of the Entire Operating System including the Home Folder ( User Account )  and replace any corrupted or removed elements of the Operating System and make thing right.

#2 - Then there are Other Contributors ( like myself ) would suggest  from this link Use Disk Utility to erase a Mac with Apple silicon.

For Intel computer >> Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac followed by How to reinstall macOS

Thereafter to start from scratch and install all Required Application directly from the Apple Apps Store or Directly from the Developer.

If going this route - I suggest Not using Startup Assist to migrate things back as this will probably Re-Introduce the existing  issue that existed when the TM Backup was made

The Etrecheck Application is a good idea and will not cause any harm to computer or User

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

This is a Diagnostic Tool that makes no changes to the computer.

It makes a coherent and readable inventory of both the Hardware and Software used on the computer

The application is free or paid from added features.

I did go into Safe Mode & had the same issue (I stated that above). I did do a First Aid on all partitions I saw there when I booted to Options before that & there were no issues. The USB-C ports read all HSS, SSD & microSD cards fine. I just cannot get ANY (I have tried 4) USB-C ethernet dongle or hubs to get an IP on 4 different routers. (I am a CPE tester for a large ISP in the US). I need that option back so I can toggle it to allow access so I can work hard wired. The root of the issue is the option missing from Privacy & Security settings. This is not isolated to my MBPro only. A lot of others having the issue since the 13.2.1 update. That is when this issue started for me.

Agree but the " Erase All Content and Setting s " is far less painful on the Apple Silicon Machine than on Intel computer.

For one, the existing version of macOS remains intact and untouched. This is not a typo but factual.

Much like in iOS when the user does a Complete Reset - only the Users Account and any Added installed Applications get removed.

I tend to believe that is far less time consuming that spending hours or days hunting down all the Bits and Pieces of Removed software.

Even then and after all that Down Time, there is always something that gets missed

User choice though
