MacBook Pro M1 swiping between desktops issue

On my 16" MacBook Pro, I'm having an issue that occurs with all these items at the same time - swiping between desktops, mouse not functioning properly including not being able to move it between externals screens or even click on an icon, button, etc. I have to hold down the power button to reboot the computer. Once I do that, it fixes the issue. However, I need to resolve this issue because when I restart the computer, I loose all work/data that has not been saved on apps. It started occurring 6 months after I started using my new MacBook Pro M1. To explain better the situation - it occurs when I have external screens attached and multiple apps open on different desktops on one screen. This problem has occurred even when my OS (Ventura) is up to date.

First, I would like to say, Thank You for all the help with troubleshooting this problem.

Second, I think I found the App causing my computer's issues - Loom. I was unaware that it was running in the background. The icon was not up at the top menu. I don't have it listed to load on start-up.

Once I removed the app, my issues did not occur anymore.

Now, I do need to find out some issues concerning things happening in the background but I have solved my screen issues.

Thanks.

Thank you for the link to help troubleshoot the issue. Here is some information from my situation to evaluate the issues.

I opened up several apps so to simulate a situation where I have several apps open at the same time. The apps that I had open are ones that I had open when I've experienced my computer issues.

Apps Open At Same Time - Google Chrome (3 windows open), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Edge (2 windows open), Safari (1 window), Adobe Photoshop, Activity Monitor.

Info related to "If your Mac runs slowly" article.

Storage = 172.79 of 994.66 used.

Memory = 12.98gb of 16.00gb used.

App Mac Compatibility = All apps except Adobe Photoshop, were downloaded from App Store and are up to date, including the Photoshop app.

One other piece of information - I have all App background tasks turned off.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you for the Apple Support links! I did work through them and the issue did not evolve.

To clarify - the problem is not a constant one. It is random. In fact, it's so random, it has not occurred for several days. I use my laptop for work so we are talking about over 40 hours without an issue. There have been a few wierd things that happened this week.

Because of my work, I often have several apps or browser windows open at the same time with each on their own desktop on the same monitor screen. I will flip back and forth to see the other window. However, sometimes this week, when I slide over to the next window, the app window will all of sudden be several desktop away from the location where I placed it. Another thing, I have had the Dock hide without me setting it to hide.

So, I will start digging deeper to see if an app is causing these issues.

Thank you all for your help!
